CURIO BLVD APP PRIVACY POLICY

This policy applies only to the Curio Blvd Time Capsule mobile application. It does not apply to purchases made on curioblvd.com.
1. OVERVIEW
This Privacy Policy explains how the Curio Blvd Time Capsule app collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.
The app is operated by Chelsey Brown LLC (“Curio Blvd,” “we,” “our,” “us”).
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE
We collect information you choose to enter or upload, including:
- Camera (Live Video & Image Capture): We use your device’s camera to allow you to record live videos directly within the app and to capture or scan images that you choose to add. Camera access is enabled only when you actively use these features.
- Microphone (Audio Recording): The microphone is used only during video or audio recordings where voice is required. Audio is recorded only while recording is in progress and is never accessed in the background.
- Phone Number: Your phone number is collected for account creation, identification, security, and authentication purposes. It is also used to enable contact-based features within the app.
- Contacts: We access your phone contacts to help you identify people you know who are already using the app and to allow you to invite contacts who are not yet using the app to share your time capsule. You may select specific contacts at any time from your phone book to share your time capsule, and you can add one or multiple contacts again in the future as needed. Contact information is used solely to provide this functionality and is not permanently stored on our servers.
- Photos, Videos, and Audio Content: We collect and store media content only when you choose to create or upload it within the app, including content you create or share through capsules.
- User-Generated Text Content: This includes messages, notes, lists, milestones, prompts, and any other text content you create and store within the app.
- Account Information: We collect basic account details such as email address, password, and profile information to create, manage, and secure your account.
- Customer Support Communications: Messages you send to customer support are collected only for the purpose of responding to your requests and improving our services.
AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED INFORMATION
The app may automatically collect:
- Device information (model, operating system, app version)
- Usage data (features used, time stamps, navigation patterns)
- Crash logs and diagnostics
- IP address and general region
THIRD-PARTY INTEGRATIONS
If you enable optional features such as the Vault backup, we may access limited information from connected services (for example, your Google Drive account ID for authorization). We do not access or view any other files in your Google Drive.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain your Time Capsule account
- Store, display, and organize your entries
- Sync or back up your content when you choose
- Improve app performance and develop new features
- Respond to customer support requests
- Protect the security and integrity of the app
We do not sell your personal information or your content.
4. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the app, including:
- Cloud storage providers
- Authentication services
- Analytics and crash-reporting tools
- Customer support platforms
- Backup and syncing tools (e.g., Google Drive, if enabled)
Service providers are required to protect your information and use it only for the services they perform for us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
5. YOUR CONTENT
Content you upload—including images, handwriting scans, audio, video, and text—is your personal content. We do not access your private entries unless you request support that requires it. You may delete your content at any time. Deleted content may remain briefly in backups before being fully removed.
6. DATA STORAGE AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Your information may be stored or processed in the United States, Australia, or other countries where our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient protects your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
7. DATA SECURITY
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, secure cloud storage partners, and authentication protections. No system is completely secure, but we work to maintain a high level of protection.
8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without consent. If we learn that information from a child under 13 was collected without permission, we will delete it.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Withdraw consent for certain processing
- Download or export your content (when technically possible)

10. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT
You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us. When deletion is confirmed, your account information and uploaded content will be removed. Backup files stored in your Google Drive remain under your control. Some technical logs may remain temporarily for security purposes.
11. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information, including your phone number, for as long as your account is active, unless a longer period is required for legal or operational reasons. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable timeframe.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the app signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
